Questions for Lesson One

I apologize for the inconvenience, but until we have set up a system to send forms, what you will need to do is:
* Write down your answers on a piece of paper, click below to send email and type in your answers.
(Actually, there are several other, easier ways to do this, including typing your answer into a notepad or similar desk accessory, copying and pasting the answers into an email message, etc. The above is the simplest way for those not very familiar with computers.)

1. Give an example of a biological factor which affects development. (There are lots. Any example will do.)

2. When asked to memorize a list of ten words, the average preschooler will remember three of the words, while the average third-grader remembers seven. This is an example of __________________ development.
    (a) social
    (b) cognitive
    (c) personality
    (d) physical

3. This lesson begins with several examples of the types of questions which might be addressed by developmental psychologists. What is another interesting question which could be relevant to developmental psychology? (If you can't think of any interesting questions, an uninteresting one will do).

4. What is a microsystem?

5. Who was the originator of the ecological theory of development?

6. BRIEFLY (in a sentence or two) define the biopsychosocial theory of development.
