The Fractal of the Week Archive — 1998

I got married in 1997 and decided to convert the free FracPPC into the shareware Fractal Domains (largely to justify the expenditure of time to my wife!) Late 1997 and 1998 were the most active period for adding new features to Fractal Domains in the history of the program. FracPPC only generated the Mandelbrot set and related Julia sets and the only orbit option was stalks. In Fractal Domains I expanded the number of fractal types supported and beefed up the orbit trap options considerably. You can see the results by comparing the 1998 Fractal of the Week entries to the images in the Main Wing, which were mostly generated with FracPPC features.

The Fractal Art '98 Contest was also an inspiration to work on some innovative images.
